Boiler manufacturer issues product notification

January 31, 2019 | By Jillian Morgan

Navien, Inc. has recalled the propane conversion kit for two of its condensing tankless water heater models (NPE-180A and NPE-180S) and the NCB-180E condensing combination boiler.

The company identified a non-conforming specification in the natural gas to propane gas conversion kit that is supplied as an accessory with each unit.

If the kit is installed in order to use propane gas rather than natural gas to fuel the unit, and if not properly vented, it could pose a risk of exposure to carbon monoxide.

Approximately 717 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between August and October 2018.
